Self doubt is a common form of fear felt by most people, especially when they are about to undertake something new or uncertain. In today’s episode, I’m chatting about self doubt, my experience and advice for dealing with self doubt.

1. WHAT IS SELF DOUBT?
Self doubt is a form of fear that most people feel throughout their lives, in all different aspects of their lives. Whether your a mother, your wanting to travel, you want to start a business, you want to run your first marathon, often self doubt will appear in your mind.

2. WHAT ARE YOU DOUBTING?
Identify what your doubts are. What is it that is holding you back from your goal? Write them down.

3. IS SELF DOUBT A BAD THING?
Self doubt is a form of fear that is designed to protect you. But if you let your doubts control your actions to the point that you are paralyzed, and doubt prevents you from moving forward with something new, that’s a very negative effect and needs to be addressed.

4. MY ADVICE FOR DEALING WITH SELF DOUBT
When you are feeling doubtful, the first thing you can do is speak to yourself with kindness. Understand that being unsure is a very natural state of mind and show yourself some kindness. Speak to yourself as if you were speaking to your closest friend about some doubts she was having. What would you say to her? Would you be supportive and advice giving?

Nothing amazing happens to anyone who is just standing still. Overcoming self doubt, moving forward with your ideas, goals and dreams will lead you to achieve great things :)
